Welcome to the Boston & Maine Railroad Dowe, NH branch. This is my fictional branch line of the B&M in 1953 modeled in N scale. The majority of the railroad is fictional but much of that fiction is based on historical research and recommendations from prototypical B&M modelers of the same era. My fictional branch runs north from the area of Intervale, NH at the end of the Conway Branch, terminating in the town of Dowe, NH. There are numerous small industries along the branch providing a continuous source of revenue including a small furniture distributor which provides the majority of the freight traffic. The B&M runs a once daily each way commuter train over this branch, catering mainly to the tourist crowd.

Main power on the branch has been a pair of worn B&M B-15 class 2-6-0's. These locos continue to provide excellent service, although the crew know their days are numbered. Fresh on the line is a new EMD SW9 switcher and RDC3 which are being tried out as replacements for the Mogul's.
